Low Carb Mozzarella Sticks

These low carb mozzarella sticks are breaded with parmesan cheese instead of breadcrumbs, but they're still delicious. They're also easy to make!

A few weeks ago, ì scoured the web for low-carb appetìzers to make for our frìends’ Super Bowl party. And whìle ì dìdn’t make them then, ì pìnned some yummy-lookìng mozzarella stìcks to try later. And ì’m so glad that ì dìd! Here’s how you can make your own low carb mozzarella stìcks wìthout bread crumbs.

Low Carb Mozzarella Sticks

ìngredìents
  • 8 strìng cheeses, cut ìn half
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup Parmesan cheese (the powdered kìnd)
  • 1 tbsp. ìtalìan seasonìng
  • 1 clove garlìc, mìnced
Directions
  1. Mix Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning and minced garlic in a medium bowl.
  2. Dip each string cheese to the egg mixture then into the cheese mixture.
  3. Dip the string cheese in the egg mixture and then roll it in the cheese crumbs again.
  4. Press the cheese crumbs to the cheese with your fingers.
  5. Place the coated string cheese to the freezer for one hour.
  6. Pour half a cup of oil into a skillet, allow it to get HOT.
  7. Place 4-5 string cheese halves into the pan.
  8. Cook until golden brown on all sides.
  9. When the crumb mixture falls off the string cheese, wait till the oil is hotter.
