Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan

This classic Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan is a healthy chicken parmesan recipe that’s baked, not fried. Served over whole wheat spaghetti, this is restaurant-quality chicken parmesan, lighted up. 

In case you have not noticed, I have been super into Italian recently. There's really nothing better than chicken that is Italian, pizzas, and pastas. Not sorry. No take-backsies.

It doesn't get much better than chicken parmesan. It is my belief that the world can not have too many Chicken Parmesan recipes, While this isn't an recipe that I created myself.

This chicken parmesan recipe is baked, not fried! I love to use without needing to fry it in 18, Panko bread crumbs to include extra crispiness.

Additionally, this more healthy chicken parmesan is served over whole wheat pasta with enough sauce to save on those calories you would eat going out to an Italian restaurant.

Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan is a recipe that is easy, yet tasty that is super! Bread the chicken, serve over pasta, cover it with mozzarella and sauce, and bake it.

Oven-Baked Chicken Parmesan
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 egg
  • 1 1/2 cups bread crumbs (ì use Panko)
  • 6 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese, dìvìded
  • 1 tablespoon drìed oregano
  • 1 teaspoon drìed basìl
  • 1/2 teaspoon drìed thyme
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlìc powder
  • 3 skìnless, boneless chìcken breasts, slìced ìn half horìzontally
  • 2 cups Marìnara sauce
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese
  • Whole wheat spaghettì, cooked
  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees F.
  2. Beat eggs and water together in a bowl.
  3. In a bowl, combine bread crumbs oregano, thyme, basil and garlic powder.
  4. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper on each side. Dip each chicken breast feeding in the egg mixture, shake off excess, then dip into the bread crump mixture on each side. Put on a baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Repeat with remaining chicken.
  5. Spray each chicken breast with cooking spray or an olive oil mister. Bake for 40 minutes.
  6. Spread each chicken breast with Marinara sauce, then top with mozzarella and remaining Parmesan cheese. Continue baking until cheese is melted.
  7. Serve over whole wheat spaghetti.
